Glenn Van Noy
Commercial Insurance BrokerMember of the California Metals Coalition
Founding Partner of NTMA SFBA Chapter
With 25 years of experience in commercial
insurance, you might expect
Glenn Van Noy to be well versed in
the property and casualty business.
But you might not expect him to be
a driving force in the machining and
metals industry.
Since 1990, Glenn has specialized in
providing risk management solutions
and commercial insurance products,
which he started tailoring for the machining
sector in 1995. After beginning
his career in sales and distribution
– including owning his own Coca Cola
distributorship – Glenn moved into
sales at Sentry Mutual Insurance,
where he eventually came to manage
a team of 40 agents in the Southern
California region. After 11 years with
Sentry, Glenn moved to the brokerage
side of the business, where he specialized
in risk management solutions and
insurance for the machining, plastic and
electronics industry.
Having witnessed decades of technology
driven changes in the machining
and tooling industry, Glenn strives to
help his clients improve all aspects of
their business operations, noting that
the biggest challenge the industry faces
is a lack of skilled labor. To that end,
Glenn was one of the driving forces in
helping to start a machining trade program
at Mira Costa Community College.
He serves as an advisor to the program
and helped secure a $2.7 million grant
from the U.S. Department of Labor to
build a 22,000 square foot facility to
house the program.

We do so much more than just provide insurance advice for your industry. Our newsletter and blog, Machining Survival News, keeps you informed about the many critical issues that affect businesses like yours day to day, from attracting and retaining talent, to protecting the profitability of your operations.
Recognizing that a lack of skilled labor has been one of the major stumbling blocks for the industry, our team was instrumental in establishing a machining trade program at Mira Costa Community College. We helped secure a $2.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to lease and equip a 22,000 square foot facility in Carlsbad to house the program. We remain dedicated to the growth of the program because we know what it means to have a thriving workforce available to the trade.
